The basic information can be found on the sidewall of your standard equipment tires. The first two-digit number is the tire’s diameter. The next is the tire’s width. And finally, the last digit(s) indicates the wheel size in inches.

Generally, landscape and garden tires have a strong enough ply rating for today’s equipment and weight demands. The most common ply ratings are stamped on the sidewall. They include A/2-ply (standard) and B/4-ply (reinforced).

The advantages of tubeless or solid tires include added durability and resistance to air leaks. However, they can be more difficult to change and repair. Additionally, they can create a rougher ride for lawnmowers and small tractors.

Yes. Foam filling tires will keep them from getting air leaks due to punctures. However, it can make the ride slightly less comfortable on a lawn mower or garden tractor. Foam filling can be a good idea for wheelbarrows and garden carts.
